Your Key to Courageous Action is…

Quit the Comparison

Move over, Oprah! Your highly productive ways could show up even the greatest of overachievers.

There’s no question, your go-go attitude never shies away from a good challenge. And let’s be honest — you’re much more likely to be crushing some extracurriculars before you’d be caught dead binging Netflix.

You, my friend, light up any room you walk into. Your effervescent nature is contagious, and your ambitious attitude makes you a magnet for just about anything you set your sights on.

You’re the life of the party, the confident go-getter, the one with that “je ne sais quoi” that people wish they could embody a little more of.

Getting after your goals comes naturally to you. You’re someone who can climb to the top of any ladder, and your social affluence makes it easy for you to get to the right people at the right time.

In high school you likely ranked at the top of the popular kids, and to this day hold the title as “life of the party.”

At the top of your values list is *FUN* — you see obstacles as opportunities and what most people might find daunting or scary, you see as an exciting new challenge.

So what’s the issue here?! You clearly have no problem jumping in to do the things you want to do…

[But here’s the thing you may not know (and is about change the game in a BIG way]

Curbing comparisons is the key to unlocking your next big move

Because as much as you can take on (well, just about anything) — the question is, how satisfied are you?

It’s time for you to take a reflective pause from the constant hustle bustle and ask: “who and what is this really for?”

Because of your headstrong and high achieving nature, you can be competitive and might even find your eyes on someone else’s lane.

That’s right — while you’ve got a real knack for getting things done, you tend to compare and contrast your life to other people’s.

Call it a fear of getting left behind, or a case of “keeping up with the Jones’” — whatever the case may be, it’s time for you to get in lane and find out what really lights  your own fire.

The truth of it all? You deserve to know the feeling of going ALL IN on YOUR hopes and dreams. You deserve to achieve from a place of authenticity, not comparison. All of your creations can belong to you and you only, without you needing to keep your image alive.

But in order to actually feel it, I can’t just tell you — you have to bite the fruit and experience it for yourself…

Which means you have to be willing to get really quiet with yourself and listen to what you authentically want to create.

Maybe you don’t actually want to climb the corporate ladder and get that promotion your colleagues are all fighting for.

Maybe what you truly want is to grow a flower farm or take off to Bali and become a digital nomad.

If you don’t start getting honest about the place you’re moving from, you’ll risk living out a life that belongs entirely to someone else.

It’s time for you to finally give yourself permission to live a life that’s for you and only you. To stop ticking the boxes of what you know you can achieve, and to instead start living from a place that deeply resonates with your soul’s desires.

Remember, just because you know you can achieve something, doesn’t mean it’s actually for you.

…and that is completely okay!

In fact, once you liberate yourself from the shackles of “should” and start living from the voice of your intuition, your entire world is going to change for the better.

✨ Here’s What Your Key To Courageous Action Says About You: ✨

You’re the quintessential “cool kid.”

Your calm, cool, confident vibes make you a natural born leader and a magnet for opportunity.

Your sun sign would fit that of a Leo — fierce like a lion and not afraid to lead the pack. No stranger to going first and always the life of the party.

Your competitive spirit longs to know where all the good parties are, who the cool people are, and how to climb to the top of the ranks. At the top of your values list is *fun* — if it includes spontaneous adventures and a challenge you can sink your teeth into, you’re there!

You’re the one that your friends and peers look to for a little extra light and inspiration. Your belief in yourself shines bright like a diamond — as you move courageously in the direction of any challenge, you inspire so many others to do the same.

And while your extroverted, free spirit can easily fly by the seat of your pants, you still find yourself stuck in the social media scroll, looking “out there” to find what the next adventure is.

So what’s it going to take?

Courageous Action Crux: With all great power comes great responsibility! 💪

And in your case, it’s all about ditching your ego and getting straight to the heart and soul of what you authentically want.

Dare I say, kicking the comparison to the curb?

Look, it’s great to have assets, and you have a lot of them! And it pays to be motivated (even a little competitive at times).

But what’s the cost of burning all of that energy towards a life that doesn’t even really feel like it’s yours? At the end of the day, it’s your legacy you’re looking to leave. So why not write your story the way you see fit?

What would I suggest? Get out of your head and into your heart! Free yourself from the shackles of how it all looks on paper and let yourself daydream about a life of your own volition.

A life fueled by peace and ease and that knows nothing of the ego. One that is 100% authentically yours and lived on your own terms.

*Remember: your life is yours, and it should be lived fully!

So let me tell you why this is so important for YOU.

Cause here’s the thing…

When you’re looking to take on that next thing — whether that’s leaving your 9-5, traveling the world, or choosing to date again…

There will always be something bigger, shinier, or more impressive that someone else around you is doing. There’s always going to be another trend, another promotion, another ladder to climb.

And in your case, you can clearly have it all.

But do you really want it?

Here’s where your work is — doing the thing does not mean doing it to prove that you can. And it’s certainly not about doing it for the wrong reasons. In order for you to truly do *your* thing, the way you see fit, it requires this one thing…

That’s right. Your job title, bank account balance, and socioeconomic status don’t matter. Heck, it doesn’t even matter what your social media following count is.

It only matters that you take action in the way of what your heart and soul desires. That you quiet the mind of its many “shoulds” and comparative measures, and do it for your damn self. That you continue to take that action for you and you only.

Anyone can make that thing happen. Anyone can make an impact, make the first move, or make money doing what they love.

But it’s not going to happen when you’re sitting in the stands, comparing your life on social media to everyone else.

Here’s what will work, though:

Remember That AUTHENTICITY is the key to your best lived life.

Let me tell you this — happiness does not lie in a number on the scale, a number on your bank account, or a number of achievements.

True contentment is actually much more simple than that. It comes from living a life that’s in alignment with your core values. It’s doing the things that will bring you the most joy, not what will bring you the most accolades. It’s what fills your cup, not what drains your tank.

In fact, some of the greatest leaders of our time went after BIG audacious goals simply because they knew deep down in their hearts that it could, and must be done. Some part of them knew authentically that this was the path for them…

Steve Jobs did the thing when he started Apple from his garage. Oprah Winfrey did the thing even as everyone around her told her she’d never make it in television.

These humble beginnings of feeling the fear and doing it anyway, have wound up being some of the greatest success stories of our time.

All because they were willing to take action in the face of adversity, self-doubt, or outside opinions.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that you took a step towards the person you know deep down you are, and the dreams you know are meant for you and you only.

Get quiet, listen deeply, and then take action!

And if doing the thing that’s authentic feels foreign at first, ask yourself this:

“What’s the cost of me *not* doing the thing?”

The last thing you want to do is wake up one day and realize your entire life was lived to keep up with everyone else around you.

You look around at all the certificates you’ve gained, all the trophies, awards, and successes only to feel emptiness inside. You realize how much more joy you could have felt if you had just listened to your authentic needs.

It’s easy to look at all the reasons why *not* to do the thing. Maybe you’re worried you’ll be judged or ridiculed. Maybe you carry a bit of shame that you’d rather travel the world than chase that next big job title.

But what’s more important to look at here is how detrimental it can be if you *don’t* listen to that quiet voice within. The one that knows exactly what is right for you.

Please hear me when I say this — you deserve to have the life you want!

Take some time to reflect on the cost that comes with not heeding the call of your intuition. What will it look like to wake up 30 years from now and realize your life was lived for someone, or something else?

Your Value Driven Action Formula

Because why bother doing the things you want if you don’t know WHY you’re doing it?!

Your Values At A Glance:

Because what’s a life worth living if you can’t have fun while you’re doing it?! 💃

If there’s a will, there’s a way! You love nothing more than the success of a job well done. 🙌

If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty. 💪

You live for the scene and love to be seen! It’s important to you that you uphold your place in the pack. 🐺

Your Superpower Strength:

You can show up to a job interview completely unprepared and still kill it.

You can ask that stranger on the subway to go for coffee without breaking a sweat.

“Embarrassment” is not a regular feeling for you — you know how to pick yourself up and dust yourself off. Life’s too short to be hard on yourself!

There’s no question — your greatest gift to the world is your unshakable confidence. You’re the one who sees the prize and keeps your eye on it fiercely until you can make it yours. The belief you have in yourself is inspiring, so much so that just being in your presence can make the impossible feel possible.

Friends will call on you when they want advice or need help doing something. You have the solutions and know what’s up! If people need a pep talk for an interview or a post-date-fail pick-me-up so they can remember their awesomeness – you are the one to do it.

Your unwavering worth is magnetic, and mirrors back to those in your life what they have deep inside.

While your belief in yourself may come off as too confident or even pompous to some,  you’re just too genuine in your approach (no one could argue that you’re not capable.

But it’s not like you haven’t had your fair share of adversities in life — you simply know enough to not sweat the small stuff and that your value isn’t wrapped up in what you can do.

With all that healthy self-esteem, what could you possibly need to watch out for?

Well, in your case, it’s channeling all of that confidence in the direction of what will authentically express your heart.

The risk for you is that  at the end of your life, you may find yourself asking, “What did I really do in my life that spoke to ME and made my life better?”

How much of that go-getter energy are you investing into the goals and dreams that will truly make your soul sing?

How often do you act from a place of joy and peace instead of ego and competition?

Your confidence can at times be like a double-edged sword. You can most certainly have *anything* you want in this life, but it comes at the cost of your own happiness if you lose sight of your north star.

You see, the ego is a strong and mighty force. The outside world will always tell you happiness lies in more money, more success, more, more, more

It’s noisy enough to keep you on that hamster wheel for life, and will keep you endlessly trying to fill a hole that can’t be filled.

But the heart is a worthy adversary for the ego.  You can live a heart centered life and still satisfy your ego.

There will always be something out there you can compare your life to. Always a new challenge, always the next rung on the ladder. It just might not be the right rung for you…

So what’s your remedy for this? Develop a practice of deep listening! It’s time for you to focus in on the *feeling* you want to have in your life, not the end result. Carve out some space every single day to get quiet, meditate, and ask yourself:

  • What do I truly want from this one life?
  • How do I want to feel?
  • What brings me a sense of purpose?”

Stay close to your feelings — write them down, and let them serve as the north star that will help you stay on track when the comparison kicks in.

Because what’s the best medicine for anyone feeling stuck in the web of comparison? A healthy strong dose of AUTHENTIC ACTION.

In this episode, we go deep into the importance of personal and relational work to stop comparisons and create an environment where you can live out your dreams by tapping into your intuition and following the feeling, instead of frantically chasing the next thing. Remember, anyone can “do the thing”— the key action here is in understanding your WHY.  Your why resides in your heart – you may just have to dig deep to uncover it.

Do The Thing by…

Knowing Your Do’s and Don’ts

The path to clarity means knowing your why, and your why not.

Understanding what works for you, and what doesn’t will make the path to your next thing a smooth one. Keep these in your back pocket so you know what’s a “go” in your world, and when it’s time to pause and reflect.

✔️ Listen to your intuition! Your gut always knows what it authentically wants. Sharpen your intuition by spending time in a daily meditation practice where you can really listen to yourself. Tap into that inner voice that knows exactly what it wants deep down.

✔️ Nurture your inner child! What did you love to do as a little one? What brought you the most joy? What could you plug into for hours on end without even noticing? Your inner child will bring you closer to the most authentic parts of you.

✔️ Stay close to your big WHY. Why is it so important that you achieve this thing? When you’re clear on your “why,” you’re much more likely to move from a place that you are authentically connected to.

✔️ Follow the path of least resistance. Before you take on a goal or project, check in to feel if it’s in flow. Does it feel like an uphill struggle? It may be a sign that you’re doing it for the wrong reasons! The path of least resistance is not to be confused with “taking the easy way out” — it’s about following the flow and letting it be easy!

Don’t displace your priorities! Constantly chasing goals for the wrong reasons is only distracting you from the life you’re looking to create. Put your own needs first by practicing boundaries with others. Not 100% lit up by a project or goal? Let it go and say no!

Say yes to your heart; your ego will still get satisfied. Get to know the difference between your head and your heart. Your ego wants to win, but your heart is just in it for the pure joy of the process. When the wheels start spinning and you find yourself feeling the FOMO, check back in. Listen to your heart and ask, “What is it that you really want?”

Quit comparing! That constant social media scroll is only going to hurt you in the end. Remember, everyone’s journey will look different – your story is yours and yours only. Who cares if that girl from high school just got promoted to CEO and bought her dream vacation home — do you even want that? Stay in your lane and focus on what you want to create.

Don’t force your path. The universe will always support you and is looking to give you something better than you currently have. Something didn’t work out the way you had hoped? Have faith that you’re supported! Something better is just around the corner.

Do The Things You Really Want With Your Personalized “Do The Thing” Life Hack

Wouldn’t it be great to know exactly what blueprint or formula you should tap into before setting out to chase your goals?

The mindset that would allow you to chase that dream, take that leap, or leave that story behind for good?

The one that would free you to live your life connected to your dream state and allow you to create with ease?

You know the one I’m talking about…

It lives somewhere in the cobwebs of your subconscious mind.

And some part of you knows that if you could finally bring it forward — maybe *just maybe* you could do the things you’ve always dreamed of doing.

Here’s the thing: Doing the thing is going to look different for everyone, in different seasons of life. Sometimes it might look like taking a BIG leap into a new chapter. Sometimes it might look like making a small change to your daily routine to help you feel better.

The point is not to put so much pressure on yourself to get these things done, but to plug into your “why” and adopt the right formula or blueprint to help you get there effortlessly.

So ask yourself this question…

What do you *actually* want from this one life? 🤔

Seems like a pretty basic question, right?

But if you really start looking around, you’ll find that lots of people (at some point or another) have no idea what it is they truly want from life.

Can you relate to this? Here are a few clues as to why:

  • You’re a recovering people pleaser and spend all your time tending to the needs of others. Who has time to soul search when they’re at the beck and call of, well… everyone?!
  • You are too busy with work and the demands of life to ever give yourself a chance to think big.

  • … Maybe you’re just too wrapped up in the distractions of life to even slow down for a hot second, and consider: “what the heck do I actually value and want from my life?”
Why is all of this so important?!

When you don’t live your life by your own rules, you live by the rules of another…

…And what a scary thought that is!

Not knowing where you stand in life means you’re that much more vulnerable to another person’s agenda.

You wind up with weak boundaries and weaker values.

You wind up being stuck in a marriage you feel trapped by.

You wind up staying in a job you can’t stand.

Or you resent the fact that your entire life feels like it’s not your own.

And you’re not alone in this. SO many people end up here — a quintessential doormat. For no fault of their own other than they don’t know any better. 🤷‍♀️

It’s Time To Change That Now 💯

You deserve to live a life that leaves you feeling free. One where you and only you are in the driver’s seat — calling the shots and living 100% in alignment with your true desires and dreams.

You deserve to wake up every morning and know that the life you are creating is uniquely and unequivocally YOURS.

…whether that means finally gaining the courage to leave that old relationship to seek out a partner that you truly want.

…or if it means mustering up the courage to write that book, take that trip, or start that pottery course you’ve been dreaming of.

Whatever the case may be, you’re 100% worth the work it takes to do the thing.

So don’t be afraid to listen to that voice inside you telling you that you are capable of more.

Listen to the part of you that knows there are more chapters to be written.

And don’t miss out on the opportunity to take the most critical step in getting there — the first one.

Because I’m going to be honest with you — anyone can forge a new path and set out to do the things they really want. But it’s not going to come without some discipline, action, and accountability.

You can say in your mind over and over how much you want to make those dreams happen in your life. The reality is: nothing changes unless something changes.

And change means you’ll have to cultivate inner strength, just like when you lift weights at the gym. Inner strength and discipline is just like a muscle — if you don’t use it, you lose it!

Know that you can start small. Build trust with yourself. Make promises to yourself that you can actually keep. Each time you flex that accountability muscle, you build internal strength that will help you move mountains!

Consider this your chance to BE that change that you want to see in your life. It’s time to take that step towards full accountability and creation of your one precious life.

And I’m about to help you get there.

You’re about to get a birds-eye view of the proven Do The Thing Formula — so you can say “I’M GAME” and take a leap into the life you’ve always wanted.

It’s time to build a life that aligns with your dream and no one else’s.

To show up as the person you were born to be.

Follow Your FLOW

What if your entire life could be inspired by the way you want to feel?

What if you could wake up every morning and feel the satisfying relief that you are creating your own life by design?

What if you never had to do another thing to gain without having to keep score but instead could live life entirely by your own inner guidance?

Let me tell you — it’s entirely possible, and all you have to do is this:

STOP the performance and start living unapologetically as YOU.

Let’s have an honest moment here, friend — how often do you feel like you’re “shoulding” your way through life? It’s like no matter what you do, it’s never enough. You’re endlessly chasing that dangling bait of some better road ahead, never stopping to question if it’s even in your best interest.

Sure, achievement feels good. It feels good to check a box and feel the validation that you can do hard things — but when it’s at the cost of your own happiness? Not exactly worth it.

In your case, it’s time for you to *slow down* and quit the rat race of chasing after life. Instead, let it be a time for you to relax, calm your mind, and find what brings you a sense of ease in life.

There’s no need to keep pushing and forcing things to happen in your life. If it feels like an uphill battle, let that be a sign you’re doing it for the wrong reasons.

Remember, just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should! Spend less time obsessing over what other people have (and how you can measure up) and more time easing into the routines and rituals that bring you the most joy. The universe is *always* working in your favor, you just have to go with the flow!

So how are you supposed to tune out the noise of this incessant comparative chatter and start listening to the quiet whisper of your soul’s deepest desire?

How do you stop bowing down to your ego so you can start living from your heart?

The #1 thing you can do for yourself?

Less Doing, More BEING

Okay, okay — I realize that this is a lot easier said than done. If it were easy, then (duh) we’d all be doing it.

But I’m telling you: take this on as a daily practice and watch your life completely transform before your eyes.

Someone as motivated as you has no issue getting to work. You’re no stranger to the hustle and productivity is practically your middle name.

But in your case, all of that doing is keeping you stuck on this wheel of “never enough” and keeping you from experiencing the blissful joy that comes from simply being you.

When you relax into who you are, everything can magnetize to you.

When you stop focusing on the next box you can check, the universe can actually reach you and give you what you truly want.

But nothing new can come in unless you’re willing to create some space!

…that means you must be strong enough to say ‘no’ to the things that don’t feel 100% in alignment with your soul

…it also means doing things for the sake of your own enjoyment. Following the feeling, not just the end result!

I know, I know, your mind has about a million questions by now…

But what if I told you that following the pings of what lights YOU up over what will get you the most credit could be the greatest relief of your life?

Do yourself a favor, will you?

Let yourself pursue what your heart tells you to do instead of what you see someone else doing. And be unapologetic in the pursuit of your best lived life.

Take the leap, make the phone call, do the thing!

And above all else, relax your need to DO it all, so you can lean into the current of where your life is trying to lead you.

You might be surprised by how quickly the flow picks up, and how much more often you find yourself in just the right place at the right time.

– Let’s Break It Down –

Action Is the Key Ingredient for Success

Word of wisdom from the business world? ⇒ Nothing happens until you sell something.

In the broader context of your life, this means that nothing happens (not the business you want to start or that trip around the world) until you’re willing to do the work. To take action — no matter how small, just take a step.

So many people think they have to have big dreams. And while it’s great to think big, it can come with a sense of overwhelm!

Can you relate?

But let me tell you this — you don’t have to know how all the pieces of the puzzle will fit together at the end of the day. In fact, you can have a “rough draft” of what you want, without ever needing to know how it will all shake out.

Clarity comes with *action*. You don’t need to have it all figured out — the path reveals itself with every step you’re willing to take. Just take one step at a time.

A dream will remain a dream — the New Year’s resolutions you write out each year will continue to collect dust until you gather the courage and stamina to just… start!

I know, I know — overwhelm is real. The top of the mountain seems dishearteningly high when you’re way down at the bottom.

But let me tell you this…

I used to think that getting to where I am today was impossible…

There was a time where I was stuck inside a life that no longer felt like mine. I was flailing around looking for anything I could grab onto to keep me from drowning. I couldn’t see just how capable I truly was of creating the things I wanted in life.

But, even though there were moments that felt insurmountable, I knew that if I could just gather the gumption to take a step in the right direction — I’d somehow be okay.

And I was more than okay. In fact, I learned that with a little structure, commitment, and a whole lot of faith, I could do pretty much anything I set my mind to in this life…

…and so can you!

With The Do The Thing Formula

This transformative formula is designed to give you the framework you need to pursue those burning desires. Keep this one close as you navigate the waters of your next goal and watch as the magic really unfolds…

So how about it?

Let’s get started by diving into the following Pillars:

When you think about that “big why” for wanting to do the thing…your eyes should well up a little. 🥺

When it comes to leaping into action around the things you want to do, it’s not about where you’re going, but where you’re coming from.

Check in with yourself:

  • Am I doing this because sometime long ago I thought I should or because I see other people doing it, or to please others?  Am I making this decision from my ego’s wants or from my heart?
  • What would achieving this bring to my life?
  • Who can benefit from what I offer?
  • Am I overthinking, or am I in my body? You know it’s the right thing when it touches your heart, not your mind.
  • What is the feeling I want to feel when I achieve this?
  • How is this going to be fulfilling to me?

Your vision is your ideal future —

And it’s not for anyone else to dictate but YOU.

So it doesn’t need to look a certain way, it only needs to be *authentic*.

If you’re doing the thing for the wrong reasons, you might not get the results you really want.

Carve out 15 minutes from your day to sit with the above questions. Give yourself permission to get crystal clear on YOUR reason for doing what you want to do.

Do the thing dare:

What’s the one thing you always knew you wanted to do, and you talked yourself out of it because you thought you shouldn’t do it?

Do that in some form. For example, if you always dreamed of being a teacher, see if you can teach a class somewhere.

How can you do it in some way that taps back into that original heartfelt dream?

I’m not just talking about saying positive affirmations (that will only take you so far.)

I’m talking about identifying the roadblocks that are keeping you from doing the thing. Rewire your mind so you don’t find yourself stuck in the same old pattern that limits you.

Your mindset is so important.

Because if you allow your mind to wander all over the place you may risk falling victim to the negative (and untrue) chatter it tends to feed you with.

Remember that standards other people set don’t have to be your standards. Consider this: with all you have accomplished, you can be a trailblazer who sets a new standard.

You can use all of your talents and strengths to go outside of the boundaries to redefine what constitutes accomplishment and success.

Ask yourself, “What does success mean to me?”

That said, how comfortable do you feel hanging out with your feelings?

Are you inviting a strong connection with your heart ?

Is comparing your life constantly to others keeping you from accessing true joy?

Are you aware of when your desire to “win” outweighs your desire to feel inner peace?

Can you celebrate yourself for all the little wins along the way? For the moments when you actually said YES in the face of fear?

Can you stay grounded in the fact that it’s not the destination, but the journey?

Some questions to shift your mindset:

  • What if the only person I need to compete with is myself?
  • What if there is no “right” way, there’s just my way?
  • What if it doesn’t have to be difficult and it just flows and feels right?

Remember: energy flows where attention goes!

If you’re constantly telling yourself that it’s never enough, you will stay in this mode of wanting and doing more and more. It’s a trap!

Because even when you reach your goals, you’ll see someone else doing something different, and you will feel unfulfilled.

It’s time to get off the hamster wheel to nowhere!

Do the thing dare:

Get out of your own way! Write out the top 5 things that bring you the most joy in your life, and practice making them a priority.

Carve out 30 minutes to an hour each day to do something that lights your soul up — without needing an agenda!

Spend an entire day doing NOTHING productive. Sleep in late, shut your laptop, get outside, and let life lead you. Get out of your productivity so you can tap into the deeper pulls of your soul.

Now this might not be what you want to hear…

Don’t let someone else’s goals overshadow your goals.

Don’t let someone else’s idea of what’s worth being, doing or having dictate yours.

Set up your goals with your north star in mind.

Your north star must come from your heart.

Without your north star, your goals  will just be someone else’s goals.

Nothing is worth having if it’s someone else’s dream.

If you don’t have a specific north star in mind yet, you can get a rough draft idea of what that is. Then take one step in the direction of that goal.

And you must be willing to get a little uncomfortable in the name of bringing that vision to life.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • If your motivation doesn’t align with your heart, at the end of your life, will you be wondering what was it all for?
  • What is the ultimate vision you hold for your life?
  • How do you want to feel in your day-to-day life?
  • Are you willing to listen to your inner guidance and follow it?

Do the thing dare:

Read Regrets of the Dying.

Honor those people by making a commitment to  yourself. Make a list of the things your heart tells you that you would love to be, do, and have.

Pick one thing you would like to do in the next month and use that as your first step toward experiencing the joy you can encounter when you honor your heart.

And I’m not just talking about lip service here…

I’m talking about making promises to yourself that you will actually commit to keeping.

Have you set yourself up to achieve your goals successfully?

Who’s holding you accountable?

Do you have a mentor?

Who can you turn to on those harder days when the motivation just isn’t there?

You can make plans all you want, but accountability is what’s going to get you where you want to go.

And if you’re overwhelmed, start small! Take it one step at a time — sign up for the thing you want to do, join that challenge, whatever you do, just start.

Do the thing dare:

Get yourself an accountability buddy! Be it a mentor or a friend — find someone that you can confide in weekly to keep you on track.

Remember, you know all of your blindspots, AND you also know all the escape routes, excuses, justifications (you name it) that will keep you in those blindspots.

You’re the one who knows how to justify when you’re out of integrity.

…or when you are overperforming out of fear of falling behind.

You’re the one who will have ALL the reasons why it’s okay to just check one more box (even if you know it’s not right for you).

This is why you need to constantly check in with someone who can call you out when you need it.

Some tips to keep in mind when working with a mentor/accountability buddy:

Be honest! Nobody wins if you’re not willing to be honest with yourself and another. Telling your mentor that you’ve been on track, when really you’ve been wearing yourself thin working for others is only going to cheat yourself.

Be specific! Decide on tangible actions that your mentor can hold you accountable to.

Maybe you share what your 3 “nos” were that week.

Or what acts of self care you committed towards yourself.

Whatever the case may be, try to be as specific and action oriented as possible.

And finally, celebrate your wins together! Part of what makes working with a mentor so worth it is that you get to celebrate your success along the way. Make sure to carve out space to pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

And if you got off track, forgive yourself, take accountability and move forward with new clarity on how you can redirect.

You know the saying: “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Strong people in your corner means you’re that much more likely to move towards the things you really want.

Do you know who your people are, and how to connect with them?

Do you surround yourself with people who do the same things as you? The people who actually want the same things as you? People who can see beyond your list of accomplishments and can see your heart.

Find the people who live their best and most authentic lives. What are their daily practices? How do they stay in the flow and out of the comparison crux?

Do the thing dare: Get out there! You may be no stranger to social events, but why not try on something you wouldn’t otherwise normally do? Maybe you really want to try that new yoga studio and feel that your people are there. Maybe there’s a networking event that intrigues you.

YOUR people are not hanging in the places you think you *should* be.

Seek out a community or an event where people will open up and be vulnerable to the things they desire most for themselves.

Heart decisions are the highest quality decisions. They  lead you in the direction of life fulfillment.

Once you realize that thing you’ve been yearning for, it’s time to set yourself up with the skills it will take to get there.

Take a class in intuitive listening, or finding your heart’s desire.

The question is…

Do you ask the right questions, use your resources, and gain the right tools?

Do you take advantage of the courses, mentorships, or any other learning materials available to you?

Remember, even if you’re just three steps ahead of someone else, you’re practically an expert to them! Never underestimate the power of new information and education.

Do the thing dare: Learn from someone and pass it on!

Bonus Dare:

Look for someone around you who seems to show the signs of living a life of comparison. Ask them about their motivations. Go ahead – just do it!

Don’t wait till you are the expert to teach what you know *right now.*

Put your confidence into action by trying something new and foreign, and teaching it right away!

Remember, even if you are just a few steps ahead of someone they have a lot they can learn from you.

How did that go? Feel like you’re ready to put some of this work into *action*?

Reminder: all of this is meant to be a process, and you’re about to use all that information to live in alignment with what matters to you the most…

And don’t forget, this is a framework! It’s something you can come back to anytime you need to dust off your inner action taker and get down to it.

–Your Value Refresher–

Questions To Reveal Your Big “Why”

Say Hello To Your North Star Values 🌟

Your values reveal your deepest motivations. They show you pretty quickly what drives your decisions in life.

Below are some questions to help you get there:

(*Pro-tip* Try writing your answers out on a separate piece of paper, so you can revisit them later)

  1. What is most important to me?
  2. What do I love to do with my time?
  3. What are my natural gifts and talents?
  4. What can I not live without?
  5. What do my peers most recognize me for?

Notice anything jumping out at you?

Notice how it’s not so much the things you “ought” to do, but the things you actually love doing that point to what you really value?

Now see if you can spot a couple of words that might better describe the answers you came up with. Do you love helping people? Maybe service is your value — try a couple on and see what fits!

Now what would it look like to honor those values? How would your life change if you let them guide your actions?

The ones we admire have clues to give us…

They show us who we strive to be and what qualities we look to embody.

Think of someone you admire and choose five words that describe them…

Do this a few times, and you’ll be moving from your north star values in no time.

“So Who’s the Coach Behind The Curtain?”

Allow Me To Introduce Myself…

Now that we know each other a little better, let me formally introduce myself…

I’m Stacey Lauren 👋CEO, founder, author, podcaster, and true serial entrepreneur.

I’m also the founder of Do The Thing — a multimedia platform that helps people accomplish their big scary goals, move through change, and tackle life’s changes with the DO The Thing Formula.

This process is tried, tested and true. I’ve seen it help people overcome huge obstacles and self limiting beliefs (time and time again) — so they can live into their highest expression in all facets of life!

After spending decades working in the staffing industry, (removing bottlenecks and growing businesses), I learned one key thing that I carry with me to this day:

There are so many different ways you can achieve your best life — but to do it, you have to get out of the stands and take action!

You can’t sit around waiting for life to happen — you just have to get out there and Do The Thing!

During my time working in the staffing industry, I also learned a ton about rejection, resiliency, leadership, and how to build a solid foundation of work ethic that would allow me to become a leader not only in my industry, but in my life.

After years of hard work, I went on to co-found and scale a  successful staffing agency — building high-touch relationships to resolve the disconnect between employers and job seekers.

But let’s not go too far down memory lane. I want to tell you how all of these years refining the art of human connection got me right here, living what I believe to be the dream.

All of my experiences taught me something so valuable and rich — and I now get to inspire others to do the same…

Ever stay in a relationship too long? A job or business? I’ve been there.

You see, after finding myself in a bit of an identity crisis (*insert divorce, exiting my company, and looking to forge a new path*), I knew it was time to get uncomfortable.

I needed to start dating and soul searching again, and doing the uncomfortable work of getting vulnerable.

…and let me tell you, it was far from easy.

But you know what I found in the midst of all that discomfort? I found what my heart was truly asking for — underneath all that programming, mind chatter and external pressure.

And once I felt it, I knew I just couldn’t keep my dreams buried any longer. It was time.

But… how? How could I create what I really wanted for my life?

How could I get out of my comfort zone, create something new, and not waste precious decades of my life being stuck in the same patterns and getting the same results?

That’s when I got curious. Curious about how other people had finally done the thing they longed to do.

…and that’s exactly how the “Do The Thing” podcast came to be.

Here’s the thing: You know what’s really in your heart. The thing that would make all the difference in the world if you could just say it out loud and bring it to life.

Some of us promise ourselves that someday we’ll go for it. We wait for the day we have enough time, enough money, enough willpower or support or courage or connections to give us a fighting chance at doing the thing.

I’m here to tell you that today is your day.

Don’t wait another minute to do the things you’ve been waiting your whole life to do! Now that you’re here, I’ll be right there next to you with support, resources, and actionable steps to help you to stop waiting and start “doing the thing.”
