IT’S ALL HERE AND IT’S ALL HAPPENING — IT’S TIME TO DISCOVER HOW TO DO THE THING!

Your Key to Courageous Action is…

Dissolve the Self-Doubt

Empathetic, humble, open-minded, and always thoughtful.

You, my friend, are a natural connector who carefully considers everything you say and do.

While so much of the world trumps through life like a bull in a china shop, you value weighing decisions and actions carefully before plunging in.

You’re a thoughtful individual — you take your time finding the best way to proceed in life. However, you’re prone to over-thinking and often catch yourself second-guessing yourself even still.

But that’s a-okay by you! You’re not here to be like all the rest.

You know deep down there’s something fundamentally different about you, and your self-reflective nature has given you a deep understanding of your own thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.

You’re relentless in your self-improvement, you’re resilient, and nobody can deny that you’ve got both feet on the ground.

Friends look to you for advice because you know exactly how to weigh options and think your way through a challenge.

While many people want to climb corporate ladders and get ahead in life, your values are more rooted in understanding the great complexities of life.

You’re much more interested in looking at life through the lens of your own ponderings  than through any generic or societal formula.

The crux of this? While you can accept the fact that you’re not quite like the others, there’s a part of you that wonders if you’re “in your head” rather than in the moment, and what you might be missing out on in the process.

You appear unsure at times, and have a hard time making decisions sometimes… so you procrastinate making them.

Sometimes, you catch yourself seeking excessive validation or reassurance from others. Then you replay that moment over and over in your mind.

You’re on a relentless quest for perfection, and that might show up as delaying taking action – especially when getting a move on could truly benefit you.

[But here’s the thing you may not know (and is about change the game in a BIG way]

Stepping into confidence rather than lingering in self-doubt is the key to unlocking your next big move.

Confidence, my friend! What you need is a heavy dose of belief in yourself and your own authentic path.

It’s one thing to be a thoughtful human being, but it’s a fine line between thinking and overthinking – especially when it results in second guessing yourself right out of the life you truly want to live.

Your thoughts about how people may perceive you could actually keep you from confidently stepping forward towards a future that’s right for you.

As harsh as those thoughts may be, your internal monologue may be downright brutal in comparison. There’s only one person listening to your self-talk, and between the criticism and perfectionism in that echo chamber, it’s no wonder you struggle to make decisions and take action.

The reality is, you are a remarkable human being. While part of your brain wants to convince you that there’s something deeply wrong with you, and that you’re one false step away from making a move that destroys you… it’s just not true.

That feeling of envy you get when you see someone confidently chasing their dream life? Push it away, because you can have that too! But it’s not going to come without some ownership of who you are and what you bring to the table.

The truth of it all? You deserve to know the feeling of going ALL IN on YOUR hopes and dreams. You deserve to show up 100% in your authenticity, uncompromised and unapologetic. All of your creations can belong to you and you only, without you needing to keep your image alive.

But in order to actually feel it, I can’t just tell you — you have to bite the fruit and experience it for yourself…

Which means you have to be willing to stop waiting for someone else to recognize your greatness , and start stepping forward boldly as the unique and talented person you are.

That means no more trash-talking yourself.

…and no more hesitating to take action because you’re afraid of making a mistake.

If you don’t start showing up unapologetically as YOU, you risk living in the shadows of your own insecurity.

You don’t have to eliminate fear to take action. You can do hard things – and you can do them messily and still be safe.

The world needs more of YOU. It’s waiting for you to come out of your shell and share your gifts and magic with the world.

Nobody, and I mean *nobody* can do what you do the way that you do it, and it would be a disservice for you to not lean into what makes you, YOU.

It’s time for you to finally give yourself permission to live the life you crave rather than just dreaming about it.  You can stop wading in the fear of “doing it wrong” and instead go for what you really want.

✨ Here’s What Your Key To Courageous Action Says About You: ✨

You’re the thinker, the analyst, the one with an extraordinarily vivid thought life, the one people turn to when they need help with a serious problem or amazing opportunity.

Not one to accept anything at face value, your ability to think critically and reflect deeply sets you apart from the crowd.

But the dark side of all that thinking is that sometimes you create stories – usually very harsh stories – about how you’re falling short… and those stories become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In so many ways, you’re a natural leader — one with a mysterious edge that keeps people constantly wondering what you’ll do or say next.

And while your demeanor would have everyone fooled that you march to the beat of your own drum, the truth is you’ve got an extra-large case of imposter syndrome.

You question yourself daily, wondering what kind of new identity you should take on that will help you “fit in” amongst the crowd.

The more you look around, the more you get a sense that you’re not “enough” and that you must do more, be better, and never, ever make a mistake if you have any hope of feeling like you belong in your world.

So what’s it going to take to shift this mindset so you can approach life with confidence as you do the thing?

Courageous Action Crux: With all great power comes great responsibility! 💪

And in your case, it’s all about strengthening your confidence and your will — so you can stop letting life pass you by out of fear that you won’t be accepted by the rest of the world.

Just think about all that excess energy you burn up wondering what other people think about you. Is it possible that maybe no one is actually judging you, and is too caught up in their own realities to really care?

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s not all about you!

Here’s the thing — you belong because you inherently belong. Not because you’ve earned belongingness by being flawless.

Your uniqueness is what makes you so special and you deserve to live a life that honors that — one that is connected to the most unapologetic version of YOU.

Remember: your life is yours, and it should be lived fully!

So let me tell you why this is so important for YOU.

Cause here’s the thing…

When you’re looking to take on that next thing — whether that’s leaving your 9-5, traveling the world, or choosing to date again…

There will always be a reason to doubt yourself, to hide, or to succumb to your perceived “not enoughness.”

The question is, how long are you willing to hide out in your comfort zone while the rest of your life passes you by?

Here’s where your work is — doing the thing does not mean doing the thing that you think will get you acceptance or validation. And it also doesn’t mean waiting for the rest of the world to understand you before you release your own creations.

That’s right — in order for you to truly do *your* thing, the way you see fit, it requires this one thing…

*CONFIDENT OWNERSHIP*

That’s right. Your job title, bank account balance, and socioeconomic status don’t matter. Heck, it doesn’t even matter what your social media following count is.

It only matters that you stand confidently in who you are and ignore the temptation to be “just like the others.”

If you want to tell a story worth telling, it’s going to require that you boldly show the world who you are and get comfortable being inside the discomfort.

Because here’s the thing…

Anyone can make that thing happen. Anyone can make an impact, make the first move, or make money doing what they love.

But it’s not going to happen when you’re hiding in the stands, depriving the world from your gifts and talents.

Here’s what will work, though:

Remember That STEPPING INTO CONFIDENCE is the key to your best lived life.

Let me tell you this — when the end of your life comes and you’re recounting it all, you’ll want to know that you lived it fully.

You’ll want to be able to say that you went *all in* on your hopes and dreams. That you didn’t let your own mean self-talk hold you back from living the life you dream of.

Remember, YOU are the one who gets to write this story, and wouldn’t it be nice to get the ending you want? The one where you take off all the masks, let yourself be seen, and live out your days in full alignment, peace, and contentment?

The moment you take ownership of who you truly are, is the moment everything in your life will change.

Show the universe who you really are deep down, and the universe will show you all the people, places, and opportunities that will best align with your uniqueness.

It’s not about fitting square pegs into round holes here…

It’s about gathering the gumption and the courage to live life YOUR way — unbothered by your past “failures”, and in full authentic, messy expression.

Some of the greatest leaders of our time made the biggest impacts because they were courageous enough to own their uniqueness. Some part of them knew authentically that this was the path for them…

Steve Jobs did the thing when he started Apple from his garage. Oprah Winfrey did the thing even as everyone around her told her she’d never make it in television.

These humble beginnings of feeling the fear and doing it anyway, have wound up being some of the greatest success stories of our time.

All because they were willing to take action in the face of adversity, self-doubt, or outside opinions.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that you took a step towards the person you know deep down you are, and the dreams you know are meant for you and you only.

Get quiet, listen deeply, and then take action!

And if confident execution feels foreign to you at first, try asking yourself this question…

“What if I could trust myself to find my way rather than beating myself up all the time?”

The truth is, we all make mistakes. We’re all figuring life out as it unfolds. Your built-in instincts plus your ability to think well is your guide.

Think of it as your internal navigation system that’s with you at all times. It signals you when something’s out of alignment, letting you know in the most serendipitous of ways when you are on track.

Rather than bashing yourself, practice being gentle with yourself. Speak to yourself with the same kindness you’d speak to your best friend. Refuse to tolerate the mean talk you typically pelt yourself with – and make a point to celebrate your wins, big and small.

Be purposeful about engaging in activities that bring you joy. This is where you’ll really shine. When you do, you’ll also naturally end up opportunities to practice accepting compliments and praise for what you’ve done.

As you begin to embrace yourself like this, you’ll begin to feel more comfortable in your own skin, more aware of your strengths, and more in touch with your own value and worth.

Can you imagine?

So, how much could your life change for the better if you knew you could always trust yourself to make life work for you?

What if you knew that all you had to do was be 100% unapologetically you, and the rest would take care of itself? Wouldn’t it be a relief to stop constantly worrying that you’ve made a mistake that you can’t recover from?

You don’t want to wake up some day and feel like you lived your entire life as your own harshest critic.. You deserve to know what it feels like to walk in the world as the unique expression you are.

Take some time to reflect on the limiting beliefs that stop you from trusting yourself and listening to your gut. What would become possible if you could get out of your own way, trust your instincts, and CHOOSE to live your life knowing you are 100% enough?

Because why bother doing the things you want if you don’t know WHY you’re doing it?!

Your Values At A Glance:

Contemplation

Because a rich inner life is what gives life meaning. 🤔

Depth

No room for small talk here! You’re here to get to the deep end. 🙌

Connection

Because life is better shared, and the wealthiest are the ones with rich connections. ❤️

Empathy

You’re attuned to others’ feelings and have a heart of gold. 💛

Your Superpower Strength:

SELF REFLECTION

You have a deep understanding of your own thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. You swim in the deepest currents and are gifted in understanding others and the world around you.

In your world, life is meant to be anything but mundane. Someone who feels as deeply as you has no interest in wading in such shallow waters.

This means you wear your heart on your sleeve, and you’re not afraid to go to the very depth of what you feel inside.

In fact, it’s your thoughtful nature that spurs you on to reach new heights, even in the face of challenges and past failures. You’re at your best when you can show yourself the same level of compassion and appreciation that you show others.

Friends and colleagues admire your deep vulnerability, your ability to see the world around through such a unique lens, and your courage to go to places in your process that many others wouldn’t.

What you need to watch for is what you say when you talk to yourself..

Your reflective nature is a gift — and it deserves to be infused into the fabric of the life you want to weave.

How much energy do you waste second-guessing your own abilities and decisions?

How much time do you over-thinking about every conversation you have – inside your head or outside of it?

What good is it to be as thoughtful, intelligent, and empathetic as you are, if you think yourself right out of experiencing joy and delight in your life?

You see, the ego is a strong and mighty force. It will tell you that to belong means you must never, ever make a mistake or take the risk of showing up as yourself.. It will try and inform you to be a certain way and wait for permission to be who you came here to be.

But here’s the thing — the only person that can give you the permission you seek to be the most aligned and authentic version of you, is YOU.

So how do you ditch some of those limiting beliefs and start believing in all you have to offer? It’s time for you to strengthen that inner trust muscle!

Because let me tell you — each time you listen to yourself, and confidently move in the direction of your bold authenticity, you will be rewarded.

Each time you choose boldly, instead of waiting back in the stands, you are supported and directed in the most magical of ways.

A Made-For-You Mantra:

“It is safe to be my own champion. People are not lined up and waiting to take me down a notch for making a ‘mistake.’”

Check out this ultra inspiring episode of the Do The Thing Podcast and tune into Human Potential Coach, Gregory Benedikt discussing his big leap into a soul inspired life!

Because what’s the best medicine for anyone feeling stuck in the throes of self-doubt and indecision? A healthy extra-strong dose of SELF TRUST.

In this episode, we go deep into the importance of living a story worth telling, and why everything comes to you when you’re willing to show up authentically.

Remember, anyone can “do the thing”— the key action here is in trusting that you alone are enough to make that happen!

KNOW YOURSELF SO YOU CAN GROW YOURSELF:

Do The Thing by…

Knowing Your Do’s and Don’ts

The path to clarity means knowing your why, and your why not.

Understanding what works for you, and what doesn’t will make the path to your next thing a smooth one. Keep these in your back pocket so you know what’s a “go” in your world, and when it’s time to pause and reflect.

 GO FOR IT

✔️ Be gentle with yourself! You sometimes forget that you’re human just like everyone else. You will make mistakes – and that’s okay. That doesn’t make you an imposter. It just makes you human. That means you’ll grow and learn as you make mistakes, not in spite of them. Give yourself a soft place to fall when you reach beyond your comfort zone.

✔️ Look to your life for evidence! Can you think of a time in your life when you took action even though you weren’t sure you could. Look back on the times where it all worked out to give you the confidence you need to keep going!

✔️ Spend time with people who believe in you. You don’t even have to ask them for validation – they’ll just offer it up naturally because they see your talents and gifts. When they pay you a compliment, let it soak in. That stuff is gold.

✔️ Become your own best friend. Practice speaking to yourself the same way you speak to people you love. You root for them, you’re compassionate with them, and you can be the same way toward yourself.

✔️ Keep a journal. Processing in your head is tough; processing your thoughts and feelings on paper is far more therapeutic. Be sure to capture (in detail!) your wins and read them back to yourself weekly.

 PAUSE AND REFLECT

✗ No more overthinking! Your soul always knows before your intellect has time to catch up. Spend less time thinking about whether you’re doing the right thing, and instead act from a place of trusting yourself..

✗ Don’t let your insecurity get the best of you. If you feed those limiting beliefs, chances are they’re going to get stronger. Keep your higher self at the wheel by affirming your gifts — remember you are not your thoughts!

✗ Quit comparing! Comparison kills joy. Remember that from the outside, everyone else looks like they’ve got it all together. On the inside, everyone around you is finding their way in the dark, just like you.

✗ Check the mean self-talk at the door. Trash talking yourself is a habit you can break. Consider wearing a rubber band on your wrist and snapping it when you catch yourself doing it. Or, ask a friend to point it out when they hear you doing it. It can take time to beat a lifelong habit but it’s safe to let this one go.

Do The Things You Really Want With Your Personalized “Do The Thing” Life Hack

Wouldn’t it be great to know exactly what blueprint or formula you should tap into before setting out to chase your goals?

The mindset that would allow you to chase that dream, take that leap, or leave that story behind for good?

The one that would free you to live your life connected to your dream state and allow you to create with ease?

You know the one I’m talking about…

It lives somewhere in the cobwebs of your subconscious mind.

And some part of you knows that if you could finally bring it forward — maybe *just maybe* you could do the things you’ve always dreamed of doing.

Here’s the thing: Doing the thing is going to look different for everyone, in different seasons of life. Sometimes it might look like taking a BIG leap into a new chapter. Sometimes it might look like making a small change to your daily routine to help you feel better.

The point is not to put so much pressure on yourself to get these things done, but to plug into your “why” and adopt the right formula or blueprint to help you get there effortlessly.

So ask yourself this question…

What do you *actually* want from this one life? 🤔

Seems like a pretty basic question, right?

But if you really start looking around, you’ll find that lots of people (at some point or another) have no idea what it is they truly want from life.

Can you relate to this? Here are a few clues as to why:

  • You’re a recovering people pleaser and spend all your time tending to the needs of others. Who has time to soul search when they’re at the beck and call of, well… everyone?!
  • You are too busy with work and the demands of life to ever give yourself a chance to think big.

Or…

  • … Maybe you’re just too wrapped up in the distractions of life to even slow down for a hot second, and consider: “what the heck do I actually value and want from my life?”
Why is all of this so important?!

When you don’t live your life by your own rules, you live by the rules of another…

…And what a scary thought that is!

Not knowing where you stand in life means you’re that much more vulnerable to another person’s agenda.

You wind up with weak boundaries and weaker values.

You wind up being stuck in a marriage you feel trapped by.

You wind up staying in a job you can’t stand.

Or you resent the fact that your entire life feels like it’s not your own.

And you’re not alone in this. SO many people end up here — a quintessential doormat. For no fault of their own other than they don’t know any better. 🤷‍♀️

It’s Time To Change That Now 💯

You deserve to live a life that leaves you feeling free. One where you and only you are in the driver’s seat — calling the shots and living 100% in alignment with your true desires and dreams.

You deserve to wake up every morning and know that the life you are creating is uniquely and unequivocally YOURS.

…whether that means finally gaining the courage to leave that old relationship to seek out a partner that you truly want.

…or if it means mustering up the courage to write that book, take that trip, or start that pottery course you’ve been dreaming of.

Whatever the case may be, you’re 100% worth the work it takes to do the thing.

So don’t be afraid to listen to that voice inside you telling you that you are capable of more.

Listen to the part of you that knows there are more chapters to be written.

And don’t miss out on the opportunity to take the most critical step in getting there — the first one.

Because I’m going to be honest with you — anyone can forge a new path and set out to do the things they really want. But it’s not going to come without some discipline, action, and accountability.

You can say in your mind over and over how much you want to make those dreams happen in your life. The reality is: nothing changes unless something changes.

And change means you’ll have to cultivate inner strength, just like when you lift weights at the gym. Inner strength and discipline is just like a muscle — if you don’t use it, you lose it!

Know that you can start small. Build trust with yourself. Make promises to yourself that you can actually keep. Each time you flex that accountability muscle, you build internal strength that will help you move mountains!

Consider this your chance to BE that change that you want to see in your life. It’s time to take that step towards full accountability and creation of your one precious life.

And I’m about to help you get there.

You’re about to get a birds-eye view of the proven Do The Thing Formula — so you can say “I’M GAME” and take a leap into the life you’ve always wanted.

It’s time to build a life that aligns with your dream and no one else’s.

To show up as the person you were born to be.

Nurture Your Need For Confidence

BECOME YOUR OWN BIGGEST FAN

You have no shortage of gifts and talents, my friend. No shortage of potential to do absolutely anything you set your mind to.

Everyone who gets to be in your life knows this — the question is, do you?

What if, instead of constantly questioning yourself, you could know (without hesitation) that you’ve got this?

What if you could turn all of that deep discomfort into an unshakable confidence that will have you moving mountains?

Let me tell you — this is entirely possible, and all you have to do is this:

Take that FIRST uncomfortable step and keep going!

Let’s have an honest moment here, friend — how comfortable are you with getting uncomfortable? How often do you stall your growth by sitting in the stands of indecision?

Self-doubt comes from a lack of confidence in your choices. You spend so much time worrying about whether you’re making the right choice, who’s watching, and how will it all turn out — when in reality, there’s no such thing as doing it “wrong”, the only danger comes from not doing anything at all.

In your case, you need a healthy dose of confidence to feel good about the choices you are making. And do you achieve this?

*drumroll please*

You get into…CONSISTENT ACTION.

Taking a step and exposing yourself to your discomforts *over and over* again, is the only way you can truly transmute that fear of being seen. There’s no easy way out, there’s no magic recipe, it’s just going to require that you build confidence the old-fashioned way — by doing!

The #1 thing you can do for yourself?

Become your own best friend!

Okay, okay — I realize that this is a lot easier said than done. If it were easy, then (duh) we’d all be doing it.

But I’m telling you: start treating yourself with the same love and respect you have for the people in your life, and watch your world completely transform before your eyes.

Someone as unique and talented as you deserves to have the confidence to take on your wildest dreams! You have so much to offer through your depth and your expression — it’s time to give yourself permission to do the things you’ve always wanted to do!

So how do you get here? By nurturing your belief in yourself, exactly as you are. Become your own best friend by celebrating your wins, taking ownership of your gifts, and doing what brings you the most sincere joy (regardless of what anyone thinks).

Oh, and if you need a little confidence boost that you can’t get on your own — ask your community! Your people can see your light from miles away. They’re the ones who inspire you, are doing the things you want to do, and who see you for who you truly are.

Make a habit of paying these friends a visit when you are doubting yourself and feeling low in the self-confidence department.

I know, I know, your mind has about a million questions by now…

But what if I told you that diving into discomfort to become your most authentic self was the key to your best lived life?

Do yourself a favor will you?

Let yourself be unapologetic in the pursuit of your authentic path. Take the leap, make the phone call, do the thing!

And above all else, relax your need to bash yourself, so you can lean into the greatness of who you actually are and let that person lead the way.

You might be surprised by how quickly the flow picks up, and how much more often you find yourself in just the right place at the right time.

– Let’s Break It Down –

Action Is the Key Ingredient for Success

SAYING “I’M GAME” = DO THE THING

Word of wisdom from the business world? ⇒ Nothing happens until you sell something.

In the broader context of your life, this means that nothing happens (not the business you want to start or that trip around the world) until you’re willing to do the work. To take action — no matter how small, just take a step.

So many people think they have to have big dreams. And while it’s great to think big, it can come with a sense of overwhelm!

Can you relate?

But let me tell you this — you don’t have to know how all the pieces of the puzzle will fit together at the end of the day. In fact, you can have a “rough draft” of what you want, without ever needing to know how it will all shake out.

Clarity comes with *action*. You don’t need to have it all figured out — the path reveals itself with every step you’re willing to take. Just take one step at a time.

A dream will remain a dream — the New Year’s resolutions you write out each year will continue to collect dust until you gather the courage and stamina to just… start!

I know, I know — overwhelm is real. The top of the mountain seems dishearteningly high when you’re way down at the bottom.

But let me tell you this…

I used to think that getting to where I am today was impossible…

There was a time where I was stuck inside a life that no longer felt like mine. I was flailing around looking for anything I could grab onto to keep me from drowning. I couldn’t see just how capable I truly was of creating the things I wanted in life.

But, even though there were moments that felt insurmountable, I knew that if I could just gather the gumption to take a step in the right direction — I’d somehow be okay.

And I was more than okay. In fact, I learned that with a little structure, commitment, and a whole lot of faith, I could do pretty much anything I set my mind to in this life…

…and so can you!

SO I’VE BROKEN IT DOWN

With The Do The Thing Formula

This transformative formula is designed to give you the framework you need to pursue those burning desires. Keep this one close as you navigate the waters of your next goal and watch as the magic really unfolds…

So how about it?

Let’s get started by diving into the following Pillars:

1.

IDENTIFY THE “WHY” ✨

When you think about that “big why” for wanting to do the thing…your eyes should well up a little. 🥺

When it comes to leaping into action around the things you want to do, it’s not about where you’re going, but where you’re coming from.

Check in with yourself:

  • Am I doing this for me or to please others?
  • Am I heavily attached to what other people are going to think of me?
  • Am I letting my fear of being “seen” get in the way of my authentic desires?
  • What would achieving this bring to my life?
  • Am I overthinking, or am I in my body? You know it’s the right thing when it touches your heart, not your mind.
  • What do I want to feel when I achieve this?
  • Who can benefit from what I offer?

Your vision is your ideal future —

And it’s not for anyone else to dictate, but YOU.

So it doesn’t need to look a certain way, it only needs to be *authentic*.

If you’re doing the thing for the wrong reasons, you might not get the results you really want.

Carve out 15 minutes from your day to sit with the above questions. Give yourself permission to get crystal clear on YOUR reason for doing what you want to do.

Do the thing dare:

Read the book “Start With Why.”

Reflect and journal about your absolute dream life. What would you set forth to do if nothing was standing in your way? Don’t let insecurities or doubt get in the way here, just let your imagination run wild.

Now take that dream life and brainstorm 3-5 ACTION steps you can take towards your goal. If it’s kind of freaking you out, you are on the right track.

*BONUS DARE*

Write down 10-15 traits that you LOVE about yourself. Remember, self appreciation is the medicine for you here. When you are in celebration of the unique gifts you possess, you’ll be that much more inclined to take confident action in the way of your goals.

2.

MINDSET

I’m not just talking about saying positive affirmations (that will only take you so far.)

… I’m talking about identifying the roadblocks that keep you from doing the thing. Rewire your mind so you don’t find yourself stuck in the same old pattern that limits you.

Your mindset is so important.

Because if you allow your mind to wander all over the place or settle in doubt…

You may risk falling victim to the negative (and untrue) chatter it tends to feed you with.

Remember that you deserve to live a life that feels authentically yours. And you deserve to walk through life with a confident mindset that believes in your talents and capabilities.

That said, how comfortable do you feel hanging out with your thoughts?

Do you have a strong connection to your mind? Can you identify the limiting beliefs keeping you small?

Is worrying about how others perceive you keeping you from confidently chasing your dreams?

Are you aware of when you put too much emphasis on how you will be received by others?

Do you let your limiting beliefs keep you in hiding?

Can you let discomfort be the guide? Can you trust that just beyond that discomfort is a life that you’ve been dreaming of?

Can you stay grounded in the fact that it’s not the destination, but the journey?

Some questions to shift your mindset:

  • What if it doesn’t matter what other people think?
  • What if being myself fully and completely is enough?
  • What if my uniqueness is in fact my gift? And what if my holding back is actually robbing the world of receiving my gifts?
  • What would be possible if I could debunk my limiting beliefs?

Remember: energy flows where attention goes! If you constantly think things won’t go your way, you might risk creating more of that in your life.

Do the thing dare:

Spend some time with your doubt and limiting beliefs!

Write down ALL of the limiting beliefs and stories you have about yourself (and don’t hold back). This includes all of those beliefs you picked up along the way in life that may not even be yours.

Now on a separate sheet of paper, ask yourself if these limitations are really true? And who would you be, or what would be possible if you could believe a different thought about yourself?

Bonus Dare: Find an expander! Seek out someone in your network who is doing something close to what you’re wanting to do.

Witnessing someone else achieving what you want can help you see that it’s possible for you, too!

3.

GOALS

Now this might not be what you want to hear…

… but nothing’s going to happen without an aim.

And nothing worth aiming at is happening in your comfort zone.

To truly squeeze the most out of this life, you’ve got to have at least a “rough draft” idea of where you’re trying to go.

And you must be willing to get a little uncomfortable in the name of bringing that vision to life.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What legacy are you looking to leave behind?
  • What is the ultimate vision you hold for your life?
  • How do you want to feel in your day-to-day life?
  • Are you willing to let your path look different than those around you?
  • Can you let it be about what you want, and not what you think others want from you?

Do the thing dare:

Make a list of all the projects you want to complete, places you want to visit, or hobbies you want to start that truly scare you.

I’m talking about the ones that shake your confidence to the bone.

Pick just *one* that you know deep down that with consistent action (and a lot of positive self talk), you could complete.

Give yourself 1-3 month timeline with ACTIONABLE steps that you can check off each day. Stay in the practice of confident execution.

4.

ACCOUNTABILITY 🤝

And I’m not just talking about lip service here…

I’m talking about making promises to yourself that you will actually commit to keeping.

Have you set yourself up to achieve your goals successfully?

Who’s holding you accountable?

Do you have a mentor?

Who can you turn to on those harder days when the self-doubt is paralyzing you from taking action?

You can make plans all you want, but accountability is what’s going to get you where you want to go.

And if you’re overwhelmed, start small! Take it one step at a time — sign up for the thing you want to do, join that challenge, whatever you do, just start.

Do the thing dare: Get yourself an accountability buddy! Be it a mentor or a friend — find someone that you can confide in weekly to keep you on track.

Remember, you know all of your blindspots, AND you also know all the escape routes, excuses, justifications (you name it) that will keep you in those blindspots.

You’re the one who knows when you’re playing small and downplaying your gifts and talents

…or when you’re trying to fit yourself into identities that just aren’t yours (so you can fit in).

You’re the one who will have ALL the reasons why it’s okay to wait a little longer to start that project, all because you doubt your abilities).

This is why you need to constantly check in with someone who can call you out when you need it.

Some tips to keep in mind when working with a mentor/accountability buddy:

Be honest! Nobody wins if you’re not willing to be honest with yourself and another. Telling your mentor that you’ve been on track, when really you’ve been wearing yourself thin working for others is only going to cheat yourself.

Be specific! Decide on tangible actions that your mentor can hold you accountable to.

Maybe you share what your 3 action steps are that week.

Or what acts of self appreciation you committed towards yourself.

Whatever the case may be, try to be as specific and action oriented as possible.

And finally, celebrate your wins together! Part of what makes working with a mentor so worth it is that you get to celebrate your success along the way. Make sure to carve out space to pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

And if you got off track, forgive yourself, take accountability and move forward with new clarity on how you can redirect.

5.

MY PEOPLE 🙌

You know the saying: “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Strong people in your corner means you’re that much more likely to move towards the things you really want.

Do you know who your people are, and how to connect with them?

Are you surrounded with people who do the same things as you? The people who actually want the same things as you?

Who are the people who had major doubts, but overcame their fear and did the thing anyway?

Who has gone before they were ready?

Who’s just *one* step ahead of where you want to be?

Find the people who live their best and most authentic life. What are their daily practices? How do they stay in the flow and out of the comparison crux?

Do the thing dare:

Get out there!

It’s no secret that your low key, humble demeanor can keep you locked inside a hermit shell for days on end.

But someone like you needs to constantly be putting yourself out there, so you can flex that confidence muscle!

Why not try on something that you wouldn’t otherwise normally do?

Or attending an event that might make you feel shy, but where you KNOW your people are going to be?

Maybe you’ve been really wanting to put your name in for that casting call.

Or maybe you’ve been thinking about asking that friend out on a date for months and just haven’t been able to muster up the courage.

Maybe there’s a networking event you’ve been eyeing but feel on the fence about.

Whatever the case may be, once you jump in and see that your people ARE out there and they want to support you, the easier it will be to make those connections.

6.

EDUCATE 📚

Knowledge = power!

And once you realize that thing you’ve been yearning for, it’s time to set yourself up with the skills it will take to get there.

Nobody knows everything, and almost everything out there, you can learn.

The question is…

Do you ask the right questions, use your resources, and gain the right tools?

Do you take advantage of the courses, mentorships, or any other learning materials available to you?

Want to learn something you see someone else doing? Ask!

Remember, even if you’re just 3 steps ahead of someone else, you’re practically an expert to them! Never underestimate the power of new information and education.

Do the thing dare: Learn from someone and pass it on!

Don’t wait till you are the expert to teach what it is you know *right now.* Put your confidence into action by trying something new and foreign, and teaching it right away!

Or if there’s a talent or skill that you humbly hold onto, practice being bold and sharing the knowledge with others. If you’re an expert guitar player, consider teaching a music class at the centre of arts!

Remember even if you are just a few steps ahead of someone they have a lot they can learn from you.

How did that go? Feel like you’re ready to put some of this work into *action*?

Reminder: all of this is meant to be a process, and you’re about to use all that information to live in alignment with what matters to you the most…

And don’t forget, this is a framework! It’s something you can come back to anytime you need to dust off your inner action taker and get down to it.

–Your Value Refresher–

Questions To Reveal Your Big “Why”

BECAUSE YOU GOTTA KNOW WHERE YOU’RE COMING FROM TO GET WHERE YOU’RE GOING

Say Hello To Your North Star Values 🌟

Your values reveal your deepest motivations. They show you pretty quickly what drives your decisions in life.

Below are some questions to help you get there:

(*Pro-tip* Try writing your answers out on a separate piece of paper, so you can revisit them later)

  1. What is most important to me?
  2. What do I love to do with my time?
  3. What are my natural gifts and talents?
  4. What can I not live without?
  5. What do my peers most recognize me for?

Notice anything jumping out at you?

Notice how it’s not so much the things you “ought” to do, but the things you actually love doing that point to what you really value?

Now see if you can spot a couple of words that might better describe the answers you came up with. Do you love helping people? Maybe service is your value — try a couple on and see what fits!

Now what would it look like to honor those values? How would your life change if you let them guide your actions?

LOOK TO THE ONES YOU LOOK UP TO 💖

The ones we admire have clues to give us…

They show us who we strive to be and what qualities we look to embody.

Think of someone you admire and choose five words that describe them…

Do this a few times, and you’ll be moving from your north star values in no time.

“So Who’s the Coach Behind The Curtain?”

Allow Me To Introduce Myself…

Now that we know each other a little better, let me formally introduce myself…

I’m Stacey Lauren 👋CEO, founder, author, podcaster, and true serial entrepreneur.

I’m also the founder of Do The Thing — a multimedia platform that helps people accomplish their big scary goals, move through change, and tackle life’s changes with the DO The Thing Formula.

This process is tried, tested and true. I’ve seen it help people overcome huge obstacles and self limiting beliefs (time and time again) — so they can live into their highest expression in all facets of life!

After spending decades working in the staffing industry, (removing bottlenecks and growing businesses), I learned one key thing that I carry with me to this day:
There are so many different ways you can achieve your best life — but to do it, you have to get out of the stands and take action!
You can’t sit around waiting for life to happen — you just have to get out there and Do The Thing!  During my time working in the staffing industry, I also learned a ton about rejection, resiliency, leadership, and how to build a solid foundation of work ethic that would allow me to become a leader not only in my industry, but in my life. After years of hard work, I went on to co-found and scale a  successful staffing agency — building high-touch relationships to resolve the disconnect between employers and job seekers. But let’s not go too far down memory lane. I want to tell you how all of these years refining the art of human connection got me right here, living what I believe to be the dream.  All of my experiences taught me something so valuable and rich — and I now get to inspire others to do the same… Ever stay in a relationship too long? A job or business? I’ve been there. You see, after finding myself in a bit of an identity crisis (*insert divorce, exiting my company, and looking to forge a new path*), I knew it was time to get uncomfortable I needed to start dating and soul searching again, and doing the uncomfortable work of getting vulnerable.  …and let me tell you, it was far from easy.  But you know what I found in the midst of all that discomfort? I found what my heart was truly asking for — underneath all that programming, mind chatter and external pressure.

And once I felt it, I knew I just couldn’t keep my dreams buried any longer. It was time.

But… how? How could I create what I really wanted for my life? How could I get out of my comfort zone, create something new, and not waste precious decades of my life being stuck in the same patterns and getting the same results? That’s when I got curious. Curious about how other people had finally done the thing they longed to do.
…and that’s exactly how the “Do The Thing” podcast came to be.
Here’s the thing: You know what’s really in your heart. The thing that would make all the difference in the world if you could just say it out loud and bring it to life.  Some of us promise ourselves that someday we’ll go for it. We wait for the day we have enough time, enough money, enough willpower or support or courage or connections to give us a fighting chance at doing the thing. I’m here to tell you that today is your day. Don’t wait another minute to do the things you’ve been waiting your whole life to do! Now that you’re here, I’ll be right there next to you with support, resources, and actionable steps to help you to stop waiting and start “doing the thing.”
